2 ❘ LOS CAB LIFE ❘ JANUARY 2018 SUPER SUNDAY ...................... TENNIS DOO DAH KICKS OFF THE YEAR L os Cab's first Tennis Doo Dah of the year is set for Super Bowl Sun- day, Feb. 4. Members will play tennis, receive a catered lunch and special event T-shirts and prizes, and will then gather to watch the big game in the tennis lounge. "It's a great event be- cause participants are competitive as a team on the courts and the com- petition continues as they root for their favorite team in the Super Bowl," said Events Coordinator Thao Le. Open to tennis mem- bers and their guests, the entry fee is $34. Players sign up, get assigned to a team based on their ten- nis level, and play as a team that day. "It's a perfect way to meet new members, to catch up with old ones and to have fun!," Le said. "There's no serving required so it's really an event for tennis players of all ages and all levels." Check-in is at 9 a.m. and the deadline to sign up is Feb. 1. Members can visit the tennis desk or call (714) 546-2900. DIVING IN! ■ MAIN POOL REFURBISHMENT IS COMPLETE, ALL LANES OPEN WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND THE CLUB… T he wait for swimming and swim-fitness enthusiasts is over. After a three-month re- furbishment process, the retooled Los Cab main pool opened on January 2. Work on the pool began in late Oc- tober and in the subsequent weeks a myriad of external and internal im- provements were made. While many of those upgrades – such as to the pool's filter and chemical control systems – will not be obvious to the naked eye, they will improve the pool's efficiency and maintenance. But every member will see marked visible improvements in the new pool finish and lane lines. Plans for a grand-reopening event are in the works, and Los Cab's Mike Kane believes one might be held when the temperatures turn warmer, perhaps in March. The main pool is now open.
