necessary and impactful ways. I am also looking forward to working closely with our Planning Committee on evaluating and updating our Strategic Plan to keep "moving the ball down the fair- way" and making sure that we are fully invested in a clear vision for the Club. This involves developing and nurturing a culture at the Club in which our members take pride in their ownership of the Club and our "best of the best" department leaders and team members take pride in being part of something very special. By investing in our physical assets and our employees, it will allow us to achieve or goals together. I look forward to seeing you around the Club and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. long-term success Forward thinking Moving ahead with plans and projects I n the coming months, the Board and I will be outlining several key projects and objectives. Many have been talked about and discussed prior, but we are now in the process of moving the projects forward and they include the following: 1) Golf Course Maintenance Building: These buildings are the oldest current buildings on campus as is evident in images from the 1960s. This is the heart and soul of our golf course agronomy team and bringing the facil- ity to current standards will position us well for years to come. This was a top priority from focus groups conducted over the past couple of years. 2) Reverse Osmosis (RO) System: Being in a megadrought and the threat of losing access to potable or "clean" water is a threat to our golf course and particularly our greens. Having an RO system will allow us to maintain the world-class course conditions we have become accustomed to. 3) Golf Course Master Plan: Origin Designs and Todd Eckenrode have worked closely with the Club to provide a Golf Course Master Plan for us to implement over the coming years. Priorities include our driving range, short game area and various improvements throughout the course, including the Stream Revitalization, Hole 10 green, Hole 15 fairway and many others. 4) Clubhouse Master Plan: MDR has developed a Clubhouse Master Plan that a House Committee subcommittee will be evaluating in the com- ing months and will address many needs that we have, such as our Patio Deck, Women's Card Room, Interior Decorations, Tee House as well as many other improvements. 5) Membership Strategic Plan: With golf course use at historical highs, we will be strategically evaluating the makeup of our membership categories and plans. The goal is to achieve a balance between supply and demand while also providing the best golf and social experience in Southern California. Over the coming months we will focus on clearly identifying and com- municating our overall goals and objectives of these projects and their de- sired results. I will work closely with the Board of Directors, Committees, and Management Team to develop an action plan to bring these projects to the membership for successful approval and implementation. – PATRICK CASEY THE DIVOT | SPRING 2022 • 3
