4 • THE DIVOT | SPRING 2022 PRESIDENT'S REPORT BY RUTHIE SHEFFIELD, PRESIDENT W e all remember the iconic commercial for cell phone cov- erage that repeated, "Can you hear me now?" That was back when cell phones were mainly used as just phones. Much has changed since then and it got me thinking about all the ways we communicate with friends and family – and, specifically, how we communicate with our members at El Niguel. There is so much going on at our Club and we want to ensure all members are in the know! >> Every Tuesday, Holly Weber sends out a Weekly Update email that lists our upcoming events, tournaments, Chef Bruno's menu offerings and more. This weekly email includes a detailed review by our management team of the pre vious week's happenings. I am continually sur- prised by how efficiently our staff manages and executes the variety of activities at our Club each week. >> Tee Talks by Craig Plumley and Matt Morton are one of my favorite com- munications. They educate us with skilled golf swing tips, maintenance projects and course improvements. >> Lori LeBard sends out informative videos for upcoming events for the entire family. I always look forward to her cre- ative and entertaining touches. >> I also appreciate the weekly texts and emails reminding me of upcoming events, dinner specials, tournaments and signup deadlines. Furthermore, members do not have to wait for the Club to communicate with them. There are many options to find in- formation on your own. >> We have just launched a beautiful new website that has an incredible amount of information, including tee time book- ings, a Club calendar, member and staff directories, dining hours, and more. >> Our mobile app on your phone has everything the website includes. Please see Holly in the administration office for any help you may need accessing our website or mobile app. >> Social media is another platform that provides information about El Niguel activities. You can find the latest posts on Facebook and Instagram. >> Posters in the lobby, locker rooms and by the Golf Shop are another way to get up-to-date information about El Ni- guel events. Carol and Cathy at the front desk, along with our entire staff, are a wealth of knowledge. They are always willing to answer your questions about our Club. >> A Membership Survey will be coming out in April with results published in May. This is a very valuable means of communication for management and us all. In an effort to provide the best and timely communication, our Club works very hard to make sure we have every member's and significant other's cell phone numbers and email addresses. If we are missing any of your contact information, please let us know. Can we over-communicate? That is a valid question, but I believe the answer is no. The Board of Directors and manage- ment want our members, their families and guests to experience all the fun and joy El Niguel has to offer on our golf course and in our clubhouse. Communication is key to that goal. Can you hear me now?
