C ertified Folder Display Service's unveiling of its innovative exploreboards has been such a success that the company is expanding into more locations. The latest is the Man- chester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, a centrally-located hotel in the heart of San Diego's bustling waterfront. "This is a very large hotel with over 1,600 rooms in their two towers, so there is a lot of foot traffic," says Jon Trumbull, Certified's Director of Custom Publishing. "Those guests on business enjoy the close proximity to the San Diego Convention Center and the Gaslamp District with all its shopping, dining and nightlife op- tions. It's also close to Petco Park." In fact, the response has been so high – usually more than 250 guests access information every day from the exploreboard – that Certified is considering adding one on the mez- zanine level and another near the back entrance, which leads to Seaport Village, a popular dining and shop- ping destination. The Grand Hyatt's exploreboard isn't the only new high-tech board on the scene. One has been placed at the Winners Circle Resort in Solana Beach near the Del Mar Racetrack, two were added in the Los Angeles International Airport, one was in- stalled in the Historic Hood River Hotel in Portland to help provide in- formation in the unmanned visitor center, and another can now be found at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. That brings the total of exploreboards currently in circulation to 43 in major tourist hubs such as Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Dallas and San Antonio. Most are in hotels, but some are located in visitor centers, casinos and various attractions. Trumbull said that while Certified remains committed to print in terms of promoting local businesses, activi- ties and attractions, the company re- alizes the need to have other options for making its enormous amount of content available through a variety of different channels. "I think marketers understand that there has to be a balance of social, digital and print," Trumbull said. "exploreboards work well with our rack distribution because they offer options and that's what people want." < The Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, right, recently joined Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel in providing ExploreBoards to guests. ................................................................ exPlOrebOards > click here to learn more about Digital Media programs. > click here for ExploreBoard sales info.
