4 ❘ LOS CAB LIFE ❘ December 2017 T he end of the year is right around the corner and that means one thing: It's time to start thinking about your New Year's fitness resolutions for 2018. "One of the most important things about having a fitness goal is consistency," said Los Cab Fitness Direc- tor Marianne Grossman. "Sticking to a workout pro- gram can be challenging, but if you maintain a solid three times per week to start you'll find yourself in the habit of working out and soon you'll feel more fit. You won't want to lose that feeling, so you'll keep going!" And while everyone has different goals, it's important to crystallize where you want to be in a year's time. Says Los Cab personal trainer Peggy Porcher: "My No. 1 New Year's resolution for 2018 is to complete my Pilates instructor certification and utilize my knowledge in this discipline as part of my own personal fitness jour- ney, as well as helping Los Cab clients and members challenge themselves with it." I n these busy and hectic times, it's often hard enough to have a moment to take for ourselves, let alone others. That is why the annual Los Cab Wrapping Party, set for Fri- day, December 15 at 9:30 a.m., is such an important part of the club's social calendar. "The joy of giving back to a fam- ily in need is what makes this an- nual event so special," said Los Cab Owner/Manager Carri Baar. "The members are amazing and their en- thusiasm and giving of their time is very much appreciated." While the club will supply the wrapping paper and other supplies, members who participate will sup- ply the gifts – as well as enjoy some delicious food and social tennis. While the end result – giving a burst of holiday cheer to a disad- vantaged family chosen by Los Cab's charity partner, the Costa Mesa-based nonprofit Share Our Selves – is obviously the important thing, Baar says the Wrapping Party is, in and of itself, a fun event. "The members are excellent wrappers," she said. "They are cre- ative and do amazing things with the gifts, especially the bikes." BUNDLES OF JOY ■ WRAPPING PARTY BRINGS HOLIDAY SPIRIT TO THOSE IN NEED CELEBRATING THE SEASON! GIVING BACK ........................ TOY DRIVE UNDER WAY AT LOS CAB M embers who want to bring a smile of holi- day joy to less fortunate children are encouraged to donate a toy to the annual Los Cab Toy Drive. The final day to drop off toys is Mon- day, December 11. Club members are en- couraged to drop off any kind of toy they think a child would enjoy, according to Membership Services Man- ager Lindsay Palmer, as long as they are new and un- wrapped. Toys can be for any age range, from infant to teenager, and can be dropped off in the membership services office. "The best thing about the Toy Drive is being able to give back and putting a smile on a child's face," Palmer said of the event, which has been taking place at Los Cab for more than 15 years. Last year's Wrapping Party was a huge success. WHAT'S YOUR NEW YEAR'S FITNESS RESOLUTION?
