4 ❘ TEE TIMES ❘ July/August 2017 GOOD TIMES! ■ CLUB EVENTS ILLUSTRATE GREATNESS OF EL CAB W hat an amazing Fourth of July celebration we had at El Caballero Country Club. The evening was filled with great fun, fine food, good friends, and a dazzling display of fireworks. Suffice to say, it went off with a bang, and I would like to thank our members for participating and for showing such great support for our club's signature event. We have been very fortunate to have had many successful events at the club lately. Our Mother's Day celebration featured nearly 1,000 attendees, and on Father's Day we had approximately 700 members and guests enjoy a day at the club. In addition, our Cinco de Mayo Party, LobsterFest and Altacocker Tournament were big hits as well. It is events such as these that make El Cab a busy and vibrant club – and a place where you can bring and entertain your friends. It is also an opportunity to showcase the club and spread the word about the tremendous opportunity to become a member at such a special place. Turning to the golf course, I would like to congratulate El Cab's 2017 Club Champions. Josh Diamond captured the men's title for the sixth straight year and Louella Kanew notched her 14th championship. Kudos also go out to Tom and Karen Rudnai, who won the Couples title, and Executive winner Ben Molnar. On another note, I would like to let our members know about a new rewards and recognition program we have instituted for our associates, and we have our first two winners – Grace Church and Rosie Villegas – who have been named Associates of the Quarter. I believe this program to be essential to the de- velopment of a passionate and energetic staff, which in turn will deliver a passionate and energetic experience to our members. Finally, we have a couple of promotions to report at the club. Maribel Gutierrez has been elevated to Dining Room Manager and Grace Church to Dining Room Captain. Promoting from within is important to me and we have two exceptional people in Maribel and Grace. I look forward to them doing great things for the club and our member experience. – PHIL LOPEZ, PGA, General Manager ● GENERAL MANAGER'S NOTE TEE TIMES THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF EL CABALLERO COUNTRY CLUB 18300 Tarzana Dr., Tarzana, CA 91356 Published Bi-Monthly for Members of the organization (818) 654-3000 Fax (818) 345-3486 www.elcaballerocc.com BOARD OF DIRECTORS President Scott Cohen 1st Vice President Drew Pomerance 2nd Vice President Michael Greenfeld 3rd Vice President Howard Walkes Secretary Ruth Harris Treasurer Alan Nussenblatt Director Richard Cain Director Jonathan Cookler Director Joe Gechtman Director Doreen Goldberg Director Karen Morin Green Director David Jacobs ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF General Manager Phil Lopez, PGA Chief Financial Officer Kristin Charness Head Golf Pro Mark Taylor, PGA Course Superintendent Doug Meadows, CGCS Administration Patricia Aranda Membership & Marketing Moriah Morrison Executive Chef Dan Cincis Catering & Events Lauren Manoff Dining Room Maribel Gutierrez Maintenance & Security Juan Escalante Head Tennis Pro Steve Paper Fitness Greg Willard Valet & Parking Adrian Escalante Front Desk Denise Sherman Men's Locker Room Romy Palis Ladies' Locker Room Tomasa Cobian
