SURVEY SAYS!
Printed brochures remain a vital resource for travelers
I
t was the Internet, of all places, where we were recently re-
minded of the value when it comes to print. That's where we
came across a Yahoo! Travel survey where 95 percent of those
who responded spoke to the usefulness of printed brochures
while on vacation or otherwise traveling.
It didn't come as much of a surprise, really. While
we realize that printed marketing materials may
have taken a back seat in the eyes of some, we
also know that, based on the sheer number of
brochures we distribute every month, travelers
are indeed making use of this time-tested
method of garnering information.
The reasons are simple and straightforward:
• Printed brochures are kept long term, the way
one might hold onto a book they'd gone out and bought.
• They're used and re-used, with travelers and vacationers
tending to pick them up randomly from time to time.
• They're always "on," with no Internet connection ever
needed to access, view and absorb.
• They look great, with a timeless sophistication and prestige
that digital media simply cannot reproduce.
You can read all about the results of the Yahoo! Travel survey –
along with so much more – in this edition of Certified Insider.
