time
out
to
think
about
how
fortunate
we
are
and
how
we
can
help
others
isn't
always
easy,
but
a
group
of
members
and
staff
did
just
that
recently
with
the
club's
annual
participation
in
the
Adopt-a-

Adopting
a
family
for
the
holidays
has
been
something
near
and
dear
to
the
hearts
of
Los
Cab
members
for
nearly
two
decades,
as
each
year
mem-
bers
donate
gifts
to
be
given
to
a
local
family
in
need.
On
December
17,
the
club
hosted
a
tennis
social,
followed
by
lunch,
gingerbread-house
decorating
and
a
wrapping
party.
This
year,
gifts
were
wrapped
for
a
family
of
seven,
and
included
toys
and
warm
clothes
for
the
kids
and
necessi-
ties
for
the
parents.
"Doing
this
really
makes
you
appre-
ciate
what
you
have,"
said
Tracy
Har-
ris
from
the
Tennis
Desk.
"This
was
definitely
a
family
that
was
in
need,
so
as
a
club,
we
were
really
blessed
to
be
able
to
provide
a
lot
of
things
that
we
often
take
for
granted."

L
ooking for something new
to keep you active and en-
gaged in a regular fitness rou-
tine? Pickleball may just be
the game for you.
One of the fastest-growing
sports around, Pickleball has
been offered at Los Cab since
early 2019 and has drawn in
everyone from tennis players
looking to mix things up to
those who have never played
a racquet sport before. Greg
Johnson, who runs the Los
Cab GK Pickleball Academy
with his wife, Kathy, said the
sport's fast pace makes it an
addictive game.
"It's catching on like wild-
fire at Los Cab," he said.
The club offers intro to
pickleball clinics Tuesdays
from 5-6 p.m. and Wednes-
days from 9-10 a.m., as well
as an advanced skills and drills
clinic for players rated 2.5-4.0
Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. Open
play is available at Los Cab on
Mondays (6-9 p.m.), Tuesdays
(9 a.m.-noon), Fridays (9 a.m.-
noon) and weekends (1-4 p.m.)
