4 ❘ LOS CAB LIFE ❘ OCTOBER 2019 ● FOR THE KIDS IN THE SPIRIT ■ HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES FOR KIDS ABOUND AT LOS CAB H alloween at Los Cab is always one of the best holidays of the year for the kids, and as the big day ap- proaches parents can rest as- sured that once again there are a couple of great ways for their young ones to celebrate. For starters, the upcoming Kids' Night Out scheduled for Friday, October 11 from 5:30- 9:30 p.m. will be Halloween themed. Dozens of young chil- dren are expected to attend, and all are encouraged to participate in the Most Creative Costume contest. They also will enjoy an age- appropriate spooky movie, play time, fun games, pizza, and a build-your-own dessert surprise. On Halloween day Thursday, October 31, the Child Care De- partment will host a Trick-or- Treat Parade from 10-11 a.m. The free event typically draws par- ents and their children from ages 1 to 6, and kids will parade throughout the club collecting candy. A light lunch will follow. Parents also should keep in mind that child care hours will be extended from 6:30-10:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18 to accom- modate those attending the an- nual Los Cab Calcutta Draw Party. A pizza dinner, games and a movie are all included in the $15 registration fee. .......................................................... > LEARN MORE at loscab.com/ los-cab-child-care. Smoothies are a great choice before or after a workout, and you can add whey protein, an immunity boost or bee pollen to make them even healthier. Protein bars are avail- able for a quick and easy way to en- hance your workout or provide sustained energy, while breakfast bur- ritos are a popular seller in the morn- ings and California Club sandwiches go fast in the afternoons. "We try to provide those healthy options, because we know that's what people are looking for when they're here at the club," said Juan Herrera, who manages the cafe.
