2 ❘ LOS CAB LIFE ❘ JULY 2019 ● AROUND THE CLUB DIVE IN! ■ SWIMMING AND AQUATICS CLASSES OFFER EFFECTIVE AND FUN WORKOUTS W ith so many swim- ming and aquatics classes available at Los Cab over the summer, there are plenty of opportunities for members to hit the pool – and dive right in. For starters, Masters Swim classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 a.m., and Coach Diego says they are ideal for members who have a grasp of the basics but want to improve their tech- nique, form and endurance. "Even if you haven't swam in years, you can start here and improve your skills," said Group Fitness Program Man- ager Marianne Grossman. Aqua classes are offered every morn- ing, with a variety of options depending on your goals. The smaller pool is where members can loosen their muscles and joints with a restorative workout that is a great option for many participants. The warm water, which is kept at approximately 90 de- grees, helps improve range of motion in all joints. Additionally, deep-water classes are held in the 50-meter pool. Flotation belts are provided, and participants get their bodies moving with a variety of exercises and drills. These workouts are effective at increasing your heart rate and working a variety of muscles. There also are classes that focus heav- ily on abdominal exercises and cardiovas- cular training, as well as a total body workout that centers on increasing core strength, endurance and flexibility. Grossman said she encourages Los Cab members to check the club's website for a regularly updated schedule of classes and swim times, and to get in the water for one of the many low-impact workout offerings that are as fun as they are effective. .......................................................................... > VISIT loscab.com/swim.
