4 ❘ LOS CAB LIFE ❘ DECEMBER 2018 ● AROUND THE CLUB HOLIDAY BLESSINGS ■ ANNUAL ADOPT-A-FAMILY TENNIS SOCIAL AND GIFT WRAPPING EVENT RETURNS THIS DECEMBER T he holiday season is a perfect time to take a step back to real- ize how lucky most of us are, while at the same time finding ways to help those who aren't as fortunate. With that in mind, Los Cab will host its 15th annual Adopt-a-Family Wrapping Party and Tennis Social on Friday, December 14. Dozens of members are expected to participate in the event, which in- cludes tennis at 9:30 a.m. in a "move up, move down" format and an 11:30 lunch, followed by gift wrapping. Registration fees for the event will go toward purchasing gifts such as clothes and toys for a local family se- lected by Costa Mesa-based charity Share Our Selves. The family also re- ceives a Christmas dinner. "The holiday season is a time of giving, and Share Our Selves is a great organization," Los Cab Owner and Manager Carri Baar said. "The partici- pants always amaze us with the care they take to make the packages as beautiful as possible. The club is many people's home away from home, so it's really a big family that is coming together to bring joy to those in need." HAPPY NUPTIALS! T he newly renovated Los Cab Courtyard set the stage for Tommy Dinh and Julie Saenz as they hosted their rehearsal dinner on November 9. The couple, who met while working together at Los Cab, tied the knot the next day. "Tommy has worked here since he was 16 and still maintains a shift even after becoming a doctor of physical therapy," said Los Cab Owner and Manager Carri Baar. "And Julie worked here for about eight years before becoming an el- ementary school teacher." Tommy and Julie were Los Cab members with their families prior to being employed at the club. BRINGING JOY ................... TOY STORY I f you happen to see large white boxes around Los Cab over the next few weeks, you know it's again time for the club's annual Holi- day Toy Drive in partner- ship with Toys for Tots. The toy drive will run through December 23, and members are en- couraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to drop in one of the boxes any time they visit the club. It's not only a great way to help fami- lies in need during the holidays, but there's an added benefit for those who become new mem- bers: The club is offering a variety of new mem- ber specials through the holidays that waive the enrollment fees with the donation of a toy. .................................... > CALL (714) 546-8560, ext. 201 to learn more.
