4 ❘ LOS CAB LIFE ❘ OCTOBER 2018 ● UPCOMING EVENTS SPOOKTACULAR! ........................ KIDS NIGHT OUT THEME IS HALLOWEEN K ids Night Out is always a blast for children who participate. But no night is more an- ticipated than the Octo- ber event, which falls two-and-a-half weeks before Halloween. The October 12th Kids Night Out will take place from 5:30-9:30 p.m. and fea- ture a Little Monsters theme. Child Care staff ex- pects between 30-50 kids to attend, and the night will include games, prizes, crafts, food, a movie, a pumpkin patch, bounce house and plenty of kid-friendly music. Of course, youngsters are welcome to wear Halloween costumes. On Halloween day, the club will host its an- nual youth Halloween parade from 10-11 a.m. Kids can fill buckets or bags that they bring from home with candy. Roaring Into Action ■ ANNUAL LOS CAB CALCUTTA FEATURES A 1920's THEME T he Los Cab Calcutta is always a highlight of the year for tennis members, and a big part of what makes it such an anticipated event is the Friday night bidding party. This year, the festivities will feature a Roaring '20s and Casino Night theme that will be held on Friday, October 19th, the night before the two-day Calcutta and Junior Calcutta tennis tourna- ments are set to commence. Open to all members and guests, come dressed in your best 1920's outfits – think flapper dresses and hats, jewelry, suits and tuxedos, and bow ties – the club will look like a scene right out of The Great Gatsby. Dinner will be served and a deejay will play tunes from the era as well as modern hits. The Casino Night will add to the lively atmosphere, and members can turn in their "play money" winnings at the end of the night for raffle tickets in hopes of win- ning some great prizes. Of course, the selection of the teams is always an exciting part of the evening. "It's a lot of fun," said Tracy Harris from the tennis depart- ment.
