CELEBRATIONS
W
hile summer weather
never really leaves
those of us fortunate
enough to live in Southern Cali-
fornia, the relaxed vibes of the
season last only so long and
Labor Day generally marks its
unofficial end. With that in mind,
members at Los Cab sent sum-
mer out with a bang on Septem-
ber 3 at the annual Labor Day
Pool Party and Tennis Doo Dah.
Approximately 125 tennis
members and their guests partici-
pated in the Doo Dah, and the
winning team was made up of
Sally Omura, Eileen Simpson, Pat
Yarbrough, JoJo Latham and
Johnny Cheng. Teams consisted
of players of all levels and ages,
making it a fun event that's con-
siderably more relaxed than
other competitive tournaments.
Members lined up before the
club opened to reserve benches
and cabanas for the Pool Party, a
highlight of the summer that at-
tracted about 325 members. At-
tendees enjoyed two large
inflatable slides, games, prizes,
and food trucks from TK Burgers
and Haole Boys Shave Ice.
"It's bittersweet for the staff to
end the summer with a splash,
and exciting for us to change
gears and prepare for our Hal-
loween Party in October," Events
Director Thao Le said.
NO WORK AND ALL PLAY!
