S tarting this fall, the Child Care department at Los Cab will feature a new educa- tional offering for kids in grades 3-5. American Kiddo Academy will open at the club and will pro- vide a dynamic S.T.E.A.M. (sci- ence, technology, engineering, art and math) learning environment during its after-school program. Activities will include tutoring in English and math as well as exploratory art, theater, robotics, Chinese and more. David Hsu, who is working with founder Andy Chan on get- ting the academy established and also will teach robotics, said he's excited to launch the program and make a positive impact on the learning environment at Los Cab. "It's really an enrichment edu- cation program," said Hsu, who has been teaching robotics for five years. "Andy has a lot of ex- perience in running these types of programs, both in the U.S. and in China. He's bringing a lot of his know-how to this operation. "What we offer blends very well with what Los Cab already does. They provide the sports and activity side, and we excel on the academic side. It's a win- win relationship." American Kiddo Academy is holding an end-of-summer event to introduce families to every- thing it has to offer. Sessions will run July 30-August 10 and Au- gust 13-24 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each weekday and are limited to 10 students per class. Hsu hopes to be able to offer a full summer program next year, and plans are being developed to add pro- grams for middle school and high school students as well. ............................................................. > CALL (714) 546-8560, ext. 303.
