4 ❘ LOS CAB LIFE ❘ JUNE 2018 ● AROUND THE CLUB HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS AT LOS CAB M emorial Day proved to be the perfect kickoff to sum- mer at Los Cab Sports Village as the club hosted its annual pool party and tennis Doo-Dah, and members en- joyed plenty of activities to celebrate the season. The pool party featured giant inflatable slides and pool games for adults, kids and toddlers, while food trucks were on site for the day serving hamburgers and shaved ice. The tennis Doo-Dah drew 20 teams of five players – men, women and kids – for a competitive yet fun event. SUMMER KICKOFF! RENOVATION PROJECTS COMPLETE NEW AND IMPROVED AT LOS CAB SPORTS VILLAGE! SCHOOL'S OUT! ....................... PLENTY OF SUMMER FUN SET FOR LOS CAB F inding something for your kids to do this summer is easy at Los Cab. Here are some of the activities on the calendar: > Kids Night Out is scheduled for June 8, July 13 and August 10 from 6-9:30 p.m, with themes including Team Dad, Surf's Up and Pirate Treasure Hunt. The Team Dad event falls just before Father's Day, so kids will be encouraged to wear jerseys from dad's fa- vorite team and participate in crafts themed around celebrating the family patriarch. > Los Cab Kids is offering a special sum- mer schedule June 25-September 4 from 10-11 a.m. Mondays are craft days, with gym class day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, picnic day on Wednesdays and movie day on Fridays. > Summer time means pool time for kids, and one way to enjoy the water is Los Cab's Big Summer Splash. Scheduled for June 9 and 23; July 4, 14 and 18; and August 11 and 25 at the main pool. The events feature plenty of ac- tivities for kids, the most popular of which will likely be the giant inflatable water slide. Upgrades included new gym equipment. T he dust has settled at Los Cab. A slew of renovations have been completed, including the recent resurfacing of the men's and women's jacuzzi decks. The year-long project also included replacing fitness equipment, resurfacing basket- ball/volleyball and tennis courts, major pool upgrades and replacing all surfaces around the pool and spas. The jacuzzi deck project, which needs to be done about every five years, took one week to complete and was finalized on May 9. "We get compliments every day about how nice the pools and deck came out," said Mike Kane, Los Cab's General Man- ager. "This was the last piece of the puz- zle for our year-long renovation projects." Doo-Dah winners: Thuan Do, Song Truong, Christine Bullette, Jim Carr and Mike Mendez. Doo-Dah finalists: Young Choi, Carol Todd, Francesca Ligman, Dylan Taylor and Cheryl Hirtler.
