hampionship-caliber athletes from
high school stars to college standouts
and even professionals and
Olympians such as three-time beach volley-
ball gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings have
made OC Fast-Twitch their home for top-
notch training over the past two decades.
Occupying an approximately 1,000-
square-foot space at Los Cab Sports Village
(with additional space outdoors), it has be-
come the go-to gym for serious athletes in
and around Orange County.
The company's name is a reference to the
fast-twitch muscle fibers that generate quick
and explosive movements that are so impor-
tant in athletics. What sets OC Fast-Twitch
apart is its emphasis on iso-kinetic training –
a method that applies variable resistance dur-
ing weight-lifting exercises to maximize effi-
ciency and further develop strength, in
addition to free-weight training, plyometrics
and other methods. The gym works with ath-
letes from all sports.
"We put each athlete through an evalua-
tion to discover their strengths and weak-
nesses, and look at the demands of their sport
and their individual goals to develop a per-
sonalized program," said Josh Gage, the gen-
eral manager of OC Fast-Twitch, who played
linebacker at Huntington Beach Edison High
School and the University of Washington.
"Los Cab has been a great location for us.
They're very supportive of what we do."
Semi-private training sessions are offered
for athletes from all sports, creating a lower-
cost option for them to get personalized at-
tention toward meeting their specific goals.
