2 ❘ TEE TIMES ❘ November/December 2017 A BRIGHT FUTURE ■ EL CAB TO CONTINUE ITS HISTORY AND TRADITION OF IMPROVEMENT ● PRESIDENT'S LETTER This event does not happen without a lot of plan- ning and organization. Great job! • • • As we all know, the recent capital projects and bylaw changes recommended by the Board all passed. We are excited about getting these projects started. El Cab has had a long history of improving the Club for the future and these projects will continue to make the Club better for all our members. We will be working diligently with our designer and several contractors to finalize the front entrance. As for the changes to the Club's inte- rior, we will have the House Committee work with our interior designer to re- view and potentially adjust the design elements where necessary. If you would like to volunteer your time and participate with the House Committee, I en- courage you to please contact Ruth Harris, who heads the committee, or Phil Lopez, our General Manager. • • • Some good news to pass along, we have sold 17 par- ticipating memberships in the last two months. I would like to welcome all the new members. Please know that I try to make myself available as much as possible if you have comments, questions or suggestions. You can meet all of the new members who have joined since October in this edition of Tee Times. Make sure you welcome them to the El Cab family. • • • As I write, carts are being allowed back on the course and the golf course is in beautiful condition. Kudos to Doug Meadows and his crew. Doug recently sent out a reminder re- garding recommended cart usage. Please read it and follow his guidelines to ensure the best playing conditions and enjoyment for all. This is my favorite time of the year. My friends on the east coast are putting their clubs in storage and we are expe- riencing some of the best weather and conditions. Enjoy all the Club has to offer. • • • My final thought, especially in light of recent events. The Club needs and welcomes all members to get in- volved. Start by joining a Committee. Make a differ- ence. And if you dare, join the Board. That's how positive change happens. Hit 'em straight, – SCOTT COHEN, Club President H alloween at El Cab has become quite the tradition. While we may be most known for our 4th of July Cel- ebration, our Halloween Haunt is a close second. I want to thank all of the members for their great sup- port of this annual tradition. We had nearly 500 members, family and guests here on Sunday, October 29, and by all accounts it was the best year yet. Thank you to the staff for all their hard work and dedication. We are excited about getting these projects started. El Cab has had a long history of improving the Club…
