GROUP CLASSES
AND PERSONAL
TRAINING ON TAP
L
os Cab is boosting
its fitness offerings in
October with a new
weightlifting program based
on the original barbell work-
out, a core-building class,
and a new Zumba program.
Bodypump 103 uses ad-
justable barbells to target all
areas of the body to im-
prove overall strength. CX-
WORX 28 focuses on
strengthening all areas of
the core, including shoul-
ders, hips, obliques and abs.
And STRONG is the new
Zumba program, a high-in-
tensity interval training class
geared more toward athletic
training and performance.

T
here are many ways to
work out – in large or
small groups, with a partner,
or by yourself. But everyone
can benefit from a personal
trainer who will design and
execute a program tailored
to your specific fitness goals.
"A personal trainer will
make sure you have good
form and use corrective ex-
ercise to help with muscle
imbalances," says personal
training coordinator Peggy
Pocher. "There is also a huge
element of accountability."
There are four personal
trainers on staff at Los Cab,
with fees from $55-75.

FOOTBALL AND MOVIES IN THE THEATER
L
os Cab kicked off the NFL season last month with Monday Night Football
viewing parties in the theater, along with Family Movie Nights on Fridays.
"I would love for people to just stop by and check it out," said theater
events coordinator Carly Pooler. "Entry is free and it's a great way to enjoy
your time. And, members and
guests are able to win some great
prizes on football nights."
Monday Night Football will con-
tinue throughout the season, and
this month Los Cab will host Movie
Nights featuring the 1978 film "Hal-
loween" on Friday, Oct. 13, and
"Hocus Pocus" on Friday Oct. 27.
LABOR DAY POOL PARTY!
T
he annual tradition at Los
Cab of saying goodbye to
summer was a swimming suc-
cess this Labor Day, as revelers of
all ages enjoyed a free pool party.
"Members and guests look
forward to Los Cab pool parties
as much as the staff do," said
events coordinator Thao Le.
"The Labor Day Pool Party is the
last hurrah of the season and is a
great way to enjoy the final bit of
summer fun before kicking off
into the new school year."
The party included everything
from a giant inflatable slide and
kayak relay race to games for
toddlers, kids and grownups, in-
cluding a beer race for adults in
which participants drank a can of
beer and then swam two laps.
"The pool area was entirely
packed," Le said. "Members and
guests occupied every single pic-
nic table, cabana, and lounge
chair. There was a lot of fun."
Prizes included Los Cab gear-
caps, tote bags, backpacks, mugs,
beach towels and goodie bags
filled with school supplies.
