4 ❘ LOS CAB LIFE ❘ OCTOBER 2017 S am Casiano has a passion for working with kids. Her career at Los Cab began in 2010 as a summer camp counselor. This past August she was named the club's new Youth Activities Coordinator. • • • How has your career led to your current job? I have worked with kids for almost eight years now, and I have worked in catering and restaurants, as a party host, a camp counselor, camp assistant director. I am also finishing school as an Early Childhood major. I have learned so much not only in school but from all of the experi- ences in the jobs I've had in the past. • • • What does your new job entail? I plan and organize all of the events we offer for the kids in our child care. For example, Kid's Night Out, Parent Shopping Days, Fun Fit classes and birthday parties. My main responsibility is to make sure the kids are having fun! What are some of the newest programs? Kid's birthday parties and fitness programs, for starters. We are also bringing back classes through- out the week that include jazz and hip-hop sessions for elementary- aged kids, introductory gymnastics, a mommy/daddy and me movement class, and a morning outdoor yoga, science/experiment class. We also have a Halloween-themed Kids Night Out planned for Oct. 20. • • • What are you most excited about in your role? As an Early Childhood educator I am excited to bring all of my ideas and the things I've learned to create a fun environment for the kids. I also love meeting all of the different families at Los Cab, so I'm excited to get to know not just the kids but also their parents. • • • What might someone be surprised to know about you? Some people find it surprising that I can speak and understand French. I've always been passionate about the Parisian culture and language. CHILD'S PLAY! ■ GET TO KNOW LOS CAB'S NEW YOUTH ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR 5 QUESTIONS WITH… SAM CASIANO YOUTH SPORTS ........................ SHARPEN YOUR SHOOTING SKILLS ON THE COURT T he old adage is de- fense wins champi- onships, and while that's true, is there any- thing more gratifying than honing your offen- sive game? That's what Matt Beeuwsaert, AKA Coach Beez, aims to do with the Jumpshot Doc. The new program now being offered at Los Cab combines one-on-one shooting instruction with state-of-the-art, interac- tive technology that tests, tracks and trains players during their shooting workout. The personalized attention will help make every player a more steady and confident shooter, ac- cording to Coach Beez. "Our program is de- signed to turn each player into a consistent, knock-down shooter by teaching them the correct form and then furnishing a space to practice their new form using The Gun 8000 that provides hun- dreds of reps each shoot- ing session," he said. ........................................... > CLICK HERE for more details or to sign up. The program is open to boys and girls ages 10 and up. Los Cab offers an introductory gymnastics class for kids.
