4 ❘ LOS CAB LIFE ❘ September 2017 SHOW TIME! ............................. FREE MOVIES FOR MEMBERS & GUESTS S ure, you can fire up your own hot-buttered pop- corn, grab a large soft drink, even make a point to bring home some Goobers and Raisinets. But it's just not the same. Try as you might, there's nothing quite like watching a movie on a giant screen. On the other hand, you can always visit the local multiplex theater, assuming you're willing to deal with the sticker-shock ticket and refreshment prices. Fortunately, Los Cab is now offering the best of both worlds: Movie Night in the The- ater, which will feature flicks free of charge on the last Fri- day of the month at 7 p.m. And since this also happens to be Los Cab's Free Guest Day, members can bring up to three guests at no cost. (Addi- tional guests can enjoy the movie for $15 or $10 for kids.) September's and October's movies will be "Sandlot" and "Hocus Pocus," respectively. Hot dogs, chips, popcorn, candy, sodas and beer will be available for purchase. GAME ON! ■ MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL HITS THE LOS CAB THEATER ACTIVITIES AROUND THE CLUB W hen Monday Night Foot- ball first hit the airwaves on ABC in 1970, most televisions were compact, produced grainy images and weighed as much as a cinder block. Although times have changed, professional football remains a can't-miss spectator sport – espe- cially on Monday nights. That's why Los Cab will now be airing Monday Night Football games starting this season in its 65-seat Theater, which includes a 120-inch state-of-the-art TV. "This is the first year we're showing Monday Night Football," says Manager Carly Pooler. "Peo- ple will love the big screen and fun vibe. Cost is $5 for members and includes a hot dog, chips and a beer or soda; $15 for guests." T he Labor Day Tennis Doo Dah and Pool Party will take place on Monday, Sept. 4. The members-only tennis portion of the event, which begins with a 9 a.m. check-in, is open to all ages and skill levels and the $35 entry fee also includes snacks, lunch, a shirt and prizes. The Pool Party begins at 11 a.m. and features a giant water slide, games and prizes, as well as food for sale. Admission is free and open to all members and their guests. M om and dad, admit it: You may love your young children more than anything, but sometimes it's nice to get away for a few hours. Thanks to Parents Shopping Day, you can do just that. Just drop off your child (from seven weeks up to 12 years of age) any Thursday, and for $15 Los Cab Kids will keep them entertained for any four-hour period before 4 p.m. And kids, let's face it: You may love your par- ents dearly, but sometimes it's nice to have Kids Night Out once in a while. The second Friday of every month, they can drop you off at Los Cab Kids, where you and other youngsters can play under adult supervision and enjoy themed crafts, games, activities, a movie, pizza and dessert. > LEARN MORE about youth services.
