The most exciting news is the evolvement of the 501(c)(3) North County Economic Development Corporation (NCEDC). NCEDC will work with public and private stakeholders for the purpose of growing and sustaining the economic base of North County and improving the quality of life in our region's diverse cities and unincorporated areas. Four main initiatives comprise our mission- driven partnership between public and private businesses, political entities and non-profit organi- zations: economic development, workforce training, livable and sustainable communities, and regional branding and marketing. The new name and 501(c)(3) designation provide the opportu- nity to apply for grants to support the NCEDC's vision of "con- necting businesses to the resources and leadership of North San Diego County." This enables the organization to conduct re- search, train and educate a more qualified workforce, improve the livability of neighborhoods and focus on retaining, expand- ing, and attracting jobs. In addition, we've recently launched the new Economic Development Dashboard to provide timely eco- nomic metrics around key industry clusters in North County. In this fall edition of the business journal we've spotlighted diverse, innovative, and engaging opportunities across our com- munity. We're proud to showcase exceptional examples of vital- ity and commerce in the region. Our efforts are building a stronger North County through collaboration and leadership.
