One of the major concerns facing Cal-
ifornia industrial development, how-
ever, is a business exodus. With the likes
of Toyota Motor Company packing up
and heading for states with more favor-
able tax climates, California industrial
developers have to keep a watchful eye
on the mood of these businesses and
their willingness to stay put.
"We have not seen many companies
looking to move operations out of
North County," Roth said. "There is a
lot involved in moving a manufacturing
business, and quite frankly the benefits
don't seem to be worth the hassle."
