2 • THE DIVOT | FALL 2022 E l Niguel Country Club has risen to the top of its game and to be the best of the best takes a village. Our vibrant membership is thriving. The Club is financially strong. Golf course conditions and playability are top tier. We all have enjoyed the upscaled dining and the im- pressive variety of entertainment and activities for the whole family. These improved experiences are the result of an extremely hard-working and terrifically skilled team of employees, as well as the contribution from our volunteer committee members. Maintaining this high-quality experience is going to take a continued commitment from YOU! Your diverse skill sets and interests may be a perfect ad- dition to a committee where you will develop new relation- ships and deepen your satisfaction and appreciation for our Club experience. Committees are vital to the day-to-day and long-term success of our Club. We have eight different committees composed of our member volunteers: Entertainment, Finance, Golf, House, Membership, Nominating, Planning and Rules/Bylaws. Each committee is Chaired or Vice-Chaired by a Director on the Board. The goal is to have a variety of members represented on each committee roster. Why do we have committees? To offer a little history and education, the Carver Model was adopted for our Club governance in 2005 under then- President Chris Dubia. The principle of the Carver Model is that the CEO/General Manager oversees all aspects and operations of the Club. Committees are charged with mak- ing recommendations to the CEO/GM and to the Board of Directors on behalf of the Membership. It is the job of the A call to action Let's keep the ball rolling at El Niguel Country Club • BY RUTHIE SHEFFIELD, PRESIDENT PRESIDENT'S REPORT One way to become more involved at the Club is to volunteer for a committee.
