4 • THE DIVOT | WINTER 2022 PRESIDENT'S REPORT BY LYLE SCHEPPELE, PRESIDENT A s we close the books on 2021, we look for- ward to a 2022 of nor- mal life. The Covid challenges, although not gone, had much less impact on our Club this year and management has done a great job of working through those issues. We continue to have significant de- mand for tee times, reservations in the dining room and activities in the club- house, and a waiting list to join the Club. The quality of golf course continues to improve, and although it will take years to get all the improvements the Board and management have planned, we continue to make progress. Matt's vision for ongoing improvements to the conditions of the course will continue in the years to come. We have received a plan for the im- provements on nearly every hole on the course from our architect, which was part of the renovation project from four years ago. Although they likely will not be com- pleted exactly as outlined by the golf com- mittee, the Board and management will be working on those over the years to con- tinue to improve the course. I can guarantee that the priorities of specific members and those of the Board will not always match; we do hear input, and the various committees digest that in- formation so it can be considered. I out- lined earlier this year the projects that were in the budget through May 31, 2022, so I won't rehash those again. How- ever, I am sure you have all seen many of the improvements on the course, in the parking lot, and around the clubhouse. Our highest priorities this year in- cluded ensuring that the long-term finan- cial structure of the Club had an adequate plan to determine the location of and tim- ing of the Golf Maintenance Facility, and to address the long-term needs of the members and membership as the demo- graphics continue to change. The Board and management spent many months addressing the Maintenance Facility, working with the architects to narrow down the options for its location and the scope of that project and impact on the other needs of the golf course. A banner year The Club made great progress on its future plans
