Airport advertising program provides
a launch pad for hospitality businesses
A
t some of the most active
airports in the Western
Hemisphere, travelers
find direction and support
with Certified's strategically
placed visitor information
display racks.
"It's an opportunity for our
clients to reach potential
prospects at major airports
throughout the Western United
States and Canada," says Bill
Deering, Senior Vice President
and General Manager at Certified.
"And reaching travelers in the
baggage claim or consolidated car
rental facilities is a great way to
connect with travelers who have
just arrived and are looking for
information on things to see
and do."
Located in 16 different airports
including "Super Sites" such as
Seattle International (49.8 million
travelers in 2018); Vancouver In-
ternational (25.9 million travelers
in 2018); and San Diego Interna-
tional (24 million travelers in
2018), the display racks feature
local and regional brochures,
maps and guides offering valu-
able assistance to travelers.
"We know people arriving in
Seattle are probably looking for
local information, but many are
also gathering information to help
plan their next trip," Deering
said. "It's interesting to see how
much out-of-area material moves
from our airport display racks.
The top movers are not always
the local attractions."
The diversity and multitude of
rack placement at each airport as-
sures visibility to travelers.
As an example, at the San
Diego International Airport,
Certified's racks are prominent
in seven different locations in-
cluding Terminal 1, Terminal 2,
International Arrivals Terminal
and the consolidated car rental
facility.
According to Deering, "Our air-
port advertising program is ex-
tremely popular with both
advertisers and travelers. At some
locations like Seattle Interna-
tional, we service our racks five
times per week."
This program has proven to be
a win-win for airports and their
passengers, as it has allowed the
airports to generate advertising
income while also satisfying pas-
senger needs for local and re-
gional information.
A new rack was
added at Ontario
International Airport.
